Political events have recently flipped the crypto market on its head, causing unforeseen impacts across the markets. However, none of the effects are hitting The Sandbox.
Shortly after the announcement of hitting 2 million users, The Sandbox continues to expand its business with a meaningful partnership for women.
To celebrate International Women’s Day, The Sandbox, a prominent NFT-gaming project, and World of Women, a female-focused NFT collection, have formed a strategic partnership to launch Wow Foundation, an NFT and Metaverse initiative for women.
The Sandbox and Female Empowerment
As part of the settlement, The Sandbox will invest $25 million to a long-term mission to facilitate women’s representation in metaverse and Web 3 spaces.
The WoW foundation initially consists of four main components: the construction of 3D World of Women avatars, the establishment of the WoW Museum, the establishment of the WoW University, and the establishment of the WoW Academy project incubator.
WoW avatars will have 10,000 3D avatars, with some of them displaying in The Sandbox Alpha Season 2 launches.
The Sandbox previously acquired the most valuable WoW NFT, #6025, commonly known as Aurora, which has been dubbed the “goddess” of the metaverse and will play a significant role in The Sandbox’s narrative.
A Metaverse Museum
The WoW Museum will be located in the virtual world of the Sandbox and will act as a hub for the WoW Foundation, while the WoW University will provide free immersive online courses for individuals interested in web3.
The WoW Academy will offer instruction, financial support, coaching, and access to The Sandbox and the World of Women’s Network, culminating in an NFT showcase.
Speaking of the collaboration, a World of Women spokesman stated,
“When [The Sandbox] approached us with this initiative, one so close to our own values and ethos, we jumped on the opportunity,” the spokesperson added, “We are humbled and excited to work with such a great team who shares our strong beliefs about why it’s so important to invest in and lift female voices.”
According to a press release source, although WoW’s target is on The Sandbox, the foundation will explore “different sub-sectors within the blockchain world.”
However, $25 million will be invested in the initiatives that, “carry the same objective to further invest in women in the space, building long-term and equitable growth and opportunities in the industry.”
The Sandbox is showing its rapid growth and completely holds all the potential to lead the future Metaverse.
The team had a successful 2021 after raising a total amount of up to $93 million from its key investor SoftBank’s Vision Fund 2 and a number of other investors.
In fact, investments from many companies in the blockchain gaming space continue to grow rapidly with massive capital raising. It could even be said that the gaming trend is dominating the cryptocurrency market right now.
New Ideas Are Coming
In addition to cryptographic components such as NFTs, the initial release of exquisite game art makes The Sandbox one of the most awaited games ever made.
Many people believe that The Sandbox will be the first name to resonate with the metaverse array, establishing the pivotal standard that all future games must strive for.
The Sandbox’s alliance with World of Women is possibly one of its most purposefully remarkable initiatives.
World of Women has gained traction in recent months, with celebrities such as Reese Witherspoon, Eva Longoria, Shonda Rhimes, and many others supporting the project.
Women today have a plethora of options to interact with blockchain expertise, innovative tech ideas, and other cultures thanks to the internet era. More and more women are becoming interested in blockchain, cryptocurrencies, NFTs, and Metaverse.
The WoW foundation, like other women-centric foundations, seeks to achieve balanced gender equality, uphold women’s roles, and assist women in establishing themselves more confidently in a fast-growing area.
